Hydrogen sulfide has a stimulating effect and a cell asphyxiation. Due to the severe systemic toxicity and the rapid morbidity,when people inhaled a low concentration of H2S, the stimulative effect is more obvious,while the concentration is high, the olfactory nerve endings are paralyzed and they feel like the smell is gone,and then they could be unconscious or even dead.
Mild poisoning: lower concentration (70 ~ 150mg / m3)
Solution:move the patient to the fresh air environment,he will feel better and the systemic symptoms such as headache and fatigue will gradually disappear after several days.
Moderate poisoning: higher concentrations (300 ~ 600mg / m3)
Patients will have the symptoms like difficulty breathing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, palpitations, headache, dizziness, nausea.and will be unconscious quickly.
Severe poisoning: high concentration (700mg/m3 or more)
